Gary Gracia
Born and raised in Arroyo Grande, I'm the fourth generation of a pioneer farm family
who settled here around 1880 and helped found the town that later incorporated. On my
Mom's ?Old Californio? side, my ancestors were among the first settlers in another
California town, Los Angeles. So, no, I'm not leaving California anytime soon.
Born in a Santa Maria hospital, because Arroyo Grande didn't have a hospital yet, I
grew up working for my Dad, went to local schools (they built most of them while I was a
kid) and went to work for a local custom farming outfit in the 1970's. Married since 1980,
we've got 2 adult boys, a daughter-in-law and a pistol of a granddaughter.
Of course, I witnessed major growth and changes over the years and I saw talk of
incoming people and real estate start to dominate conversations.
I got my Salesperson's license in 1988 and started with an office in Old Town Arroyo
Grande, (now they call it the Village), soon upgraded my license to Broker status and
worked there for 20 years. I moved around, did some training and managing for other
companies and opened my own company in 2016. I have now joined a big firm, Century
21 Masters, and who is operating out of my old Village location.
Through the years, while I've served the local Realtor community with many board
positions and still do, I got licensed to serve buyers and sellers.
I believe competence is important to service, so I have, and will always, pursue
education, training and designations so I can be at my best when I serve friends who
become clients and clients who become friends.
