My philosophy is simple: my clients come first. Communication is key. I pledge to put you first and to communicate with you regularly. I don't measure success through achievements or awards, but through the complete satisfaction of my clients. Let my eye for detail and penchant for excellent service help guide you. With over 20 years of experience working in the fields of historic preservation, design, management and sustainability, real estate comes naturally. Allow me to show you that I can exceed your expectations. The Road Less Traveled Architecture, art, design and community are in my blood. Raised in the Midwest, I grew up immersed in architecture, art, design and community. Early exposure to small local businesses fostered a passion for good donuts, handmade sausages, the most perfect ice cream (even Oprah thinks so!) and above all else the value of community. My parents, a Midwestern father with a love of architecture and the hunt for treasure and a West Indian mother who shared the rich variety of her Bajan heritage, created a vibrant home. These influences were paramount to my exposure to the world and a desire to create my own adventures. After pursuing my B.A. in Art History at Sweet Briar College and a transformational year studying in Scotland at the University of St. Andrews, I decided to return to Scotland to pursue a graduate program in architecture - determined to demonstrate that historic preservation and the retention of the existing built environment are vital and sustainable practices. Scotland quickly became home. I enrolled at the Mackintosh School of Architecture to pursue my research. Glasgow was on the cusp of great things and working hard to revive itself. It had been the European City of Culture in 1990 and I had a front row seat to watch the continued transformation of the city. After leaving Glasgow, I lived in New York City, later moved to Downeast Maine, then on to Washington D.C and Northern Virginia. It is the sum total of these experiences in urban and rural environs that have helped me accomplish my PhD. as well as shape my vision and passion for historic preservation, sustainability, neighborhoods and community investment.
